Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Automotive Dealership Controller to lead a financial operations and accounting team. Working closely with ownership and the General Manager, you will manage the general ledger, ensure accurate monthly factory financial statements, and maintain tight internal controls. The ideal candidate is an analytical leader who collaborates effectively with department managers to drive profitability across the store.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate month-end factory financial statements on time.
- Cash & Asset Management: Monitor cash flow, manage floor plan payables, and oversee bank reconciliations.
- Internal Controls: Maintain strict accounting procedures to safeguard dealership assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the office staff (A/P, A/R, billing, titles, and payroll).
- Operational Partnership: Review financial trends and expense controls with Sales, Service, and Parts managers.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3–5 years of proven experience as an Automotive Dealership Controller or Assistant Controller (Required).
- DMS Skills: High proficiency with major DMS platforms (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or Dealertrack).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
- Attributes: Strong analytical skills, expert Excel usage, and a collaborative, high-integrity communication style.
